Client: US Coast Guard
Location: US Coast Guard Base, Alameda, CA
The project focus was to replace the roofing at two existing headquarters buildings for the US Coast Guard at Coast Guard Island, Alameda, CA. The work required complete removal of all existing roofing systems, totaling 40,000 SF, from the existing buildings and then replacing with new tapered insulation and built-up roofing designed to withstand 120-MPH winds. The work also included the hazardous abatement and removal of existing asbestos-insulated steam lines from the roof. All work was accomplished with minimal impact to the operations of the buildings.
